..this open house search is not limited to just APR listings.. it includes all listings that are active in the MLS. Even if you are not currently in the market it is always a good idea to keep an eye on the market shifts and trends so that you have a leg up when you decide to make a move. Attending open houses and noting which homes sell in under 30 days will give you a lot of insight into what types of homes are being listed and what types of buyers are active in the market. Great Year in Real Estate!

With a short sale, commercial lease and a residential lease already under my belt I am excited to see what I am capable of during my second year in real estate.

Anxious to balance out my buyers with another local listing that I can sink my teeth into but I know this opportunity will only present itself once I am ready.

I never dreamed that so many great things would happen to me in a single year: I have a healthier relationship with my parents, I met my dream girl who continues to push me to be the best person that I can be, I passed my real estate licensing exam the first time, and I was hired by the top real estate brokerage in Silicon Valley just two days later! Much to Write About

Right now I am sitting in the back seat of my friend's car en route back from a ski trip to Tahoe. I am going to sleep really, really well tonight. If anyone gets the chance to ski the Sierra mountain I would highly suggest that you grab some food at the 360 BBQ Grill at the top of the mountain. The service is friendly, the food is great and the beer on tap is choice. Snow cover was a bit patchy on some of the steeper routes but the rest of the mountain sported great views and soft, choppy, fluff. So why am I sharing this with you right now? Well, it's a blog, and it's been awhile since I last felt like writing (hence the gap in entries) so I figured I would share with you a little about my day trip to Tahoe. So yea, it was fun!!! Happy holidays everyone!

It's been awhile since the last fireside chat. Much has happened and much still remains the same. Work at City Hall continues to chug along just fast enough for me to be able to jump off and back on again as I please. The past two weekends were spent working on the set of a horror film (in HD) with blood, waxworms, prosthetic jaws and an unbeatable cast & crew. Honestly, I did the least amount of work out of anyone. I spent most my time either looking for slack to pick up or trying to stay out of the way. Thank you to John Conway for the oportunity to work with on Blockhead. Well, that's pretty much it. Thanks again to John, Twitter, Anthony, Drew, Cindy, mom, dad, facebook, Matt, Chris, Leonora, Danny, grandma and Zeus.

Just this morning I was thinking how nice it was to have two months of guaranteed employment. Turns out that the city can only offer me one more week of work. This event was indeed, unexpected. At the end of the week, eh, who knows. It'll be alright though, I have a superhuman immune system and friends that work the taco truck outside my place, well, they work around the taco truck and when I say 'work' I really mean I don't know what they do for a living and when I say that I don't know what they do for a living what I really mean is that I DO have a pretty good idea what they do for a living but would be hard pressed to report it on this blog.. but I divert.. and suggest. Its an ugly game I am flirting with.

In other news, if you are not feeling very well on Monday and you still have to go into work, then PLEASE, for the sake of everyone else wear a mask.. and make it snug. I swear I won't poke fun dude, its just a flu.. and we all know that the flu sucks. My worst fear is that they take all my pork away. What else am I going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Did I mention that I heard about the whole "Swine Flu" on the Daily Show? Yup. Less news. More running. Earlier to bed. This whole structure thing has been pretty cool. Maybe I will wake up early and go for a run tomorrow? Probably not. Have a great weekend and don't forget to write.

My Friday Update

This week has been awesome. I made it to work on time all five days and managed to maintain my position in the corner office of the finance department. It is a strange situation but something that I wouldn't trade up for anything. Today the city offered to extend my "temp position" employment until the end of the fiscal year (June 30th). It is looking like it would still be just the same old $10.33 per hour and the same crappy benefits but I will get to be in LA with the same old incredible friends. I notified my building managers of the need to continue renting my place and they were cool (I gave them my 30 day notice about 2 weeks ago!). Staying around for another couple of months is going to allow me to record some more songs at my buddy Charlie's place and potentially even open up the door for a "real" job... I love it here in LA even if the air sucks, the traffic is worse and my buddy's place just down the street is the tranny epicenter of the universe. It don't matta. Its all about friends and family and the music and love that binds us. K. So today's post is a wee bit more personal than normal but I figured that I would give my fans something to chew on over the weekend. Off to Charlie's studio in Studio City this evening to record. The Art of Coming Up With Something to Blog About

Get enthusiastic about it! Things tend to happen faster when you successfully generate a heavy rolling motivation behind a cause or a practice. Wow, I just pulled that one out of thin air. Enough dilly dallying. I thought a bit this afternoon (ouch!) about what I look for in my writing and the same questions keep popping into my head:

How can I add value?
How can I keep this simple.. clear?
Is the underlying tone of the post, positive?
Am I being honest with myself and my readers?
Is my writing in alignment with what I am wanting to promote in myself and those around me?

Fears and the Other Things that We Manifest

So you have your vision board all setup.. you listen to your daily affirmations and say your mantras out loud... you are dedicated to making your good life, better.

I feel as if only a few days ago I started to understand what the "Law of Attraction" truly involves. Yes, I watched "The Secret" a little over a year ago but I struggled because I was still harboring some negative core beliefs. Sadly, although I had succeeded in getting completely out of debt in one month, it was short lived.

The negativity crept back into my life under the cover of my good old friend "familiarity." I enjoyed getting caught up in the political news. It offered me the escape that I didn't even consciously recognize that I was looking for. It was only a matter of time before the negativity seeped into the other areas in my life. I still realized that the Law of Attraction was always in effect (always has been and always will be) but I had started to say to myself... "Holy Shit, this has got to be too good to be true".. and I felt afraid... afraid that I was turning into someone that I didn't know or didn't want to know... afraid that I as attracting a lifestyle that I wasn't deserving of... afraid of the constantly growing responsibilities in my daily life... afraid that the Law of Attraction would somehow start running out of control and that there would be no way to reign in the ever changing experiences. Whoah. I needed to just take a step back and say "fuck it." you know?

Off to enjoy the weekend! May you obtain a huge personal breakthrough as we all learn and help others to conquer their greatest fears. Peace.

Positive and Negative

I seem to be stuck in the cycle of posting a lot of negatively charged blogs. I am just writing this so that I can become better aware of my own hypocricies in an attempt to have a better understanding of myself.

For the most part, I practice what I preach to friends and family alike, however, I think I might need to learn how to better preach what I am trying to practice.. ya hear?

That is all I have to say for right now. Thank you to my friends and family for calling me on my shit. You help make me a better person!

The market has reached the halfway point in what will ultimately be termed "The 21st Century Correction."

I am sticking with the original predictions I made (albeit to myself) about a year ago. Between now and the 2nd quarter of 2010 the DOW will break through 5,000 and find resistance just slightly above 4,000. From here we will slowly start to recoup our losses.

Market volatility will remain high for at least the next couple of years... So trade with confidence, conviction and without your ego (easier said than done).

Long term, the biggest winners will be companies like Netflix and Intel but I am certain that a lot of other buying oportunities exist with smaller companies sporting clean balance sheets.

With this said, I believe that most traders will be safer on the sidelines until the second half of 2010.

Oil companies, gold and China are clear favorites right now.

Ever wonder what investment banking people are talking about when they mention "shorting" a stock? Essentially, these people make money when the stock drops because they are betting that there will be a significant decrease in the stock's price... so it wouldn't hurt to know in advance that a company or industry (or try "world economy") was destined to bite the dust.

I am not saying that short selling is the main reason why we are in this economic predicament... Short selling is but one strand in the destructive web of financial leveraging instruments aimed at HUGE returns for the people that are wealthy and educated enough (aka the people that currently hold the "leverage")to play the game.

Bear in mind, only the people with the deepest pockets were able to place their bets.

Open up v4.2 Google Earth. Once it loads hit Ctrl+Alt+A... (Macs are a little different Cmd+Opt+A)... This mode will put you into the flight simulator mode where you can enjoy a little flight time within your Google Earth software. Enjoy flying your plane into a structure or fly around the home that you modeled in Google Sketchup. ENJOY!

Economic Rents

I am not saying that the Oscar's event was a total bust. People got paid. John Stewart was present. Nicole Kidman looked jaded. And all of the really old rich movie industry tycoons sat front and center. What did they really want to see? Skin? Famous people falling on stage or missing their lines? No, they wanted to see advertisements... like the one for Nintendo. Talk about an incredible plug for the Wii. Industry leaders pay BIG money for those spots. Writers, Limo Services, Caterers, Party Companies.... make up a small part of the Hollywood pyramid scheme. I hope that you continue to get yours but please don't make the event up to be something that it is not. It isn't a dog show parade... or a matter of life and death... so why am I still writing about it? Shit.

The Three Main Types of People

I believe that the world consists of three types of people:

1) Creators
2) Maintainers
3) Destroyers (ME!.... guess why)

Creators offer things for the destroyers to destroy. Destroyers offer things to the creators to create. Maintainers act to support and promote the continued development of both the destroyer AND the creator. All three types of people are dependent on the other types for sustainability.

When we die, I believe that we merge back into the collective conscious... or just think energy at its most simple form. Our human experiences become shared with this collective, helping to contribute towards our search for "truth."
